Storms of life are any disturbed state, unpleasant, troubl, challenges etc. threatening someone’s life or environment. They are things within us or around that makes one unhappy.
Storms or challenges are real part of life. “You can only escape then when you die” Kenneth E Hagin.

If you are going through one of life’s storms or what seems like an unending valley and you feel you may not likely experience a sunny day or a mountaintop again. Hear this very good news, “you are being tested. And you know what, being tested only makes you stronger.” Downton Abbey.

JESUS said in (Matthew 11: 28- 30) “come unto me, all that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly hearted: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” (KJV)

The storms of various diseases where quelled in the lives of a great multitudes at once in(Matthew15:29-31).

JESUS Christ stilled the storms of physical hunger and penury in the lives of thousands of people who came to Him at once (John 6:1-13).

Furthermore, He stilled the storm of a man whose hand was withered on the Sabbath day (Matthew 12:10).

Jesus Christ stilled the storm of humiliation and embarrassment at the weeding of Cana of Galilee. Making impossibility possible by turning water into wine.

“Jesus saith unto them, Fill the water pots with water. They followed the instruction and filled them up to the brim.
And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,
And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now. (John 2:1-11)”

JESUS calmed the storms that threatening to drown the little boat carrying Him and His disciples when crossing the sea of Galilee. (Mark 4:35-41).

He also stilled the storm of hunger and lack of fund by feeding the five thousands (5000) multitudes of people who followed Him with five loaves of barley bread and two small fish. (John 6:1-15).

He is still busy doing so today, because, “He is the same yesterday, the same today and forever too. (Hebrew 13:8)

Not all of us will have to face the same aforementioned storms. But in one way or the other storms will surely come. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 6:33) KJV

When in the midst of storm(s), always remember (Isaiah 43:2) “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.” All He had promised, He will fulfill if we dare to believe, claim them and take steps.

The following are highly essential when in the midst of storm(s):

 • Dare to believe in His promises

No matter the storms or challenges you are facing or passing through right now. Always remember some individuals had passed through the same challenges and were victorious. Do you know this hymn? It’s a great songs for all believers to sing time to time as a source of strength when facing with the storms of life.

1 Standing on the promises of Christ my king,
through eternal ages let his praises ring;
glory in the highest, I will shout and sing,
standing on the promises of God.

Standing, standing,
standing on the promises of God my Savior;
standing, standing,
I’m standing on the promises of God.

2 Standing on the promises that cannot fail,
when the howling storms of doubt and fear assail,
by the living Word of God I shall prevail,
standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

3 Standing on the promises of Christ the Lord,
bound to him eternally by love’s strong cord,
overcoming daily with the Spirit’s sword,
standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

4 Standing on the promises I can Prom
listening every moment to the Spirit’s call,
resting in my Savior as my all in all,
standing on the promises of God. [Refrain]

God promises are declaration or assurance He made with us of doing something or that a particular thing will happen.

The good news is that he keeps his promises. Throughout the scripture, without exclusion God upholds each and every promise ever made. That should give us great confidence to exercise our faith in God’s promise.

(Romans10:9-10) 9 If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Let read the following bible verses on God promises and claim them:
Phil. 4:19; psalm 27:1; Romans 8:28; Joshua 1:9; Isaiah 54:10; Isaiah 40:10- 18…………

 • Seek the wisdom of God

your own storms of life can be stilled if you seek divine wisdom. Wisdom is the ability to consistently make good choices. It can also be describe as the ability to apply the facts of life to practical living.

Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off. proverb 24:14. It assist us to be calm and faithful in Christ believing he will still the storm and provide away out completely.

Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you. Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Proverbs 4:6-7 (NIV)

 • Be prayerful

“Pray without ceasing” (1thessalonians 5: 17). The lyrics of the song …’ What a friend we have in Jesus’ speak volumes to my soul..please have a taste of it as you read and sing those words because indeed We have a friend more than a brother who sticks closer to us than we ever thought there

Prayer is a powerful weapon of overcoming the storms of life.

Jesus Christ a mentor and a great leader to follow lived a life of prayer

what a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
Oh what peace we often forfeit
Oh what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge
Take it to the Lord in prayer
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he’ll take and shield thee
Thou wilt find a solace there

Prayer is a practice of communicating with one’s God. The God presence is highly essential to our everyday lives, to “pray without ceasing” means we are constantly in His presence. Praying without ceasing means to continue in our dependence towards Him for anything and everything in our day to day activities.

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.” James 5:16 (KJV)

When facing the storms of life: barrenness, unfairness in life, bad colleagues, depression, setback, failure, discouragement, harassment, discrimination, unemployment, disappointment of various types and trouble whereby you thinking of committing suicide? Always remember Christ Jesus the son of God is ever present with you in the storm(s). “He is the same yesterday, the same today and forever more.” (Hebrew 13:8).
